As I started contacting the Affiliates who had signed up with the Nannies4hire.com program but have been inactive, I realized that many affiliates do not necessarily keep records of what Affiliate Networks they have signed up with.
So when you contact them I find it important to email them their sign in page and unique user id. If they can't remember their password..it can be sent to them. Otherwise you might find your email in their deleted box.

Some new helpful resources and links for Affiliate Managers
I have added some links for resources I found interesting or helpful as an new Affiliate Manager (bottom right)
Are there reliable sources for offering free content to your affiliates?
An affiliate who had signed up with our program..asked me if I knew of any resources for free content. I know that any type of duplicate content can get a blog or site dumped into Google's dreaded supplemental index. So I posted this question for feedback on abestweb.com. and got some great responses and ideas from the members. First members strongly warned against using free content for the following reasons...
- Copyright issues - many of the repositories of "free" content are simply compilations of copyrighted material, with the attribution stripped out or replaced. Even if you can't find the same content in a Google search... you may be surprised to find out that it was copied from a site that isn't indexed because it requires registration, and/or because it charges for access to content. (And although most copyright owners will simply send you a "cease and desist" message, every year there are lawsuits filed by some copyright owner or broker against a zillion defendants.)
- Beware of using offshore "writers" in India - content that is often very thinly adapted from copyrighted materials and very poorly written.
A good suggestion I got for content ideas is to set up a google news alert..You set up alerts by keyword and they drop you an email whenever they find related articles. This can give you some ideas for articles to write.
and finally, talk to people in your industry..there may be writers who are willing to give your articles for free to get their name out. Need to check these writers out carefully.

Feedback: Going back to the personal thing, this is something a lot of AMs do and it bugs me a little. You make this nice email out to me personally, from you personally, and then tell me some nameless person who has a couple of free minutes will help me out.Switching back into corporate sales mode, I always, if sending out an initial contact letter/email/etc would state you can contact me here via email/telephone/etc. Once I knew I was getting swamped, etc, I would assign these to my sales staff like this:If you have any questions please feel free to contact me or Joe Blow who I have assigned as your account representative to help you in any way we can.Keep it personal, don't go through all that to, on one of the last lines, make it seem like a form mail.and mail@nannies4hire.com?You don't have your own email? Or an email account that sounds like it has something to do with the affiliate program? It's a step up on those companies that send affiliate email from yahoo or hotmail accounts, but an email like that makes it look like it's going to go into a catchall rather than an actual person.Lastly, I know what you are trying to do with the wording, but personally, with the honored bit, it makes me feel like I'm dealing with a kiss ass type person.
